The best exhibitor over the last ten years has to be Gerald Spencer...

he must of won twice as many specials as anyone else.. of course they are others who come to the forefront for a couple of season, but Gerald is always their in the mix

Their has been many goods exhibitors but you asked for the best? if you want a list of people that is a different question? i doubt that anyone will disagree with Gerald Spencer being the best...

but up with Gerald in the mix for specials you have Clarke And Gillott, Terry Kelly, G Northern, Andy McEwan, smith & Evans, Tony Carline and the list goes on and on....... (sorry if i have missed anyone)

unlike borders we have not one dominate breeder (Mr Warne) yet? as the fife canary is still evolving in terms of style and shape? and let's hope it stays that way?

An interesting topic, and I think the reason you only got one intital response is that few if any on here who have been involved in the hobby for the last decade would argue with James - for results and consistentcy I don't know of any other fancier who comes close. As for others James covers them well - I'd add Albert Clamp to the list, Albert gave birds up about three years ago and always did well on the bench

I haven't followed the show scene over the past 10 years to comment. 2009 was my first year showing. Not knowing anything about the show scene until recent, the only name I was aware of was Terry Kelly. Having showed in 2009, the name that cropped up the most at the FFCCs was Gerald Spencer. There are some fantastic birds being bred though from others whose names also crop up at the leading shows.

David Lumsden from Fife has to be one of the top fanciers ,If it wasnt for him and his late father their might never have been a Fife fancy,
